In this blog I will write down the lessons that I learn as part of my personal continuous education project. I will write both in English and in Spanish.
My continuous education project is about learning something new every day. I like reading (books, newsletters, blogs), listening to podcasts, an occasionally following a structured online classes (Coursera, webinars, etc...)
I usually write summaries/ take notes of the things that I learn so that it will be easier to revisit the material later. While I was listening to an episode of the Tim Ferriss Show podcast where Tim Ferriss interviews Maria Popova -- blogger of BrainPickings.org -- I got the idea of starting this blog. Maria believes that writing only a summary of every chapter in a book is not enough. She argues that it is important to be able to say - almost like in an elevator pitch way - what were the author's key arguments in the book in a couple of sentences. She also gives advice on how to start writing down your ideas and how developing a habit to write down what you learn in this way will lead you to a deeper understanding of what you read.
My goal is to read at least 26 books (1 every 2 weeks) in 2015. In this blog I will write about my learning habits, the key lessons I have learned about the books that I have read/ podcasts I have heard/ classes & seminars I have taken/ documentaries I have watched, and about the continuous improvement of my personal learning project. I will try to sit down and write at least twice a week.
I am writing this blog for myself. If you happen to come across this, I hope you enjoy it. If you have any feedback on how I can improve this learning project, please contact me at molino17@gmail.com
